I was going to write a post about Christmas trends for 2010, but to tell the truth, with a heat index of 108 outside I really am not that enthusiastic about it yet.
It seems when you are crafting for profit your are always thinking ahead to the next season and/or fad. You look for the trends, you watch for the colors popping up stores. You really have to be observant.
When I saw Chelsea Clinton in her floppy hat and sunglasses before her wedding, I wondered how long that would take to catch on as a "look" here in the Midwest. I didn't have to wait long. Today I saw a teenager admiring herself in a mirror with just that look. I think Chelsey has started something.
Girls everywhere will be going incognito.
It's fun. So I say, "why not?".
I'm not really an edgy sort of gal, so my crafts and handmade items tend to have a classic, timeless feel to them. I don't get wrapped up in too many fads. Color is the exception to that rule. I love bright, vibrant colors.
Then again, a floppy hat and sunglasses could be in my future. I might give myself away though with my usual bright red or pink lips.
Will you go incognito?
