Working Behind The Scenes
I've been really busy lately on the behind the scenes work regarding my webiste. I moved all my items to a new host and then changed my domain to point to it. That may not sound very hard, but I only know enough about this stuff to make me dangerous.
My webstore was through Highwire.com to begin with and truthfully I just wasn't seeing the kind of traffic I want and need. So, someone told me about ArtFire.com and I decided to make that the new home of SherryCreates.
The Big Move
It took me several days to move my things over, but I like it so much better. Listing items is going to be so much easier than the site I was using. It takes a lot of the guess work out of it for me. Like I said earlier, I only know enough to make me dangergous. I'm a learn as you go kind of gal.
The main thing I like is that it analyzes and submits my Google merchant settings for me. The more I was reading on that, the more confused I got. I can already tell I'm getting more traffic to my site. That makes me very happy.
The hardest part for me was trying to get my domain to forward properly. I could get it to do it kinda sorta, but it was still going to the old mechant site sometimes. Once I typed in the magic code (to me at least) I think I'm ready to truck right along.
The New Look
I also gave my website a new look. It's got kind of a kitchy feel to it which I like very much. I think if feels classy and smart ... like me. :-)
The logo is also new and I did it myself at CoolText.com. It didn't cost me anything. Again, if I can do it anyone can.
