The end could be drawing near for GlaxoSmithKline's multi-billion dollar diabetes drug Avandia, if two U.S. Food and Drug Administration reviewers are successful in their bid to have the drug pulled from the market because of its link to heart problems.

Have you heard about this?
If you are taking the drug Avandia, you have a 43 percent higher risk of heart attack and a 64 percent increased risk of dying from heart disease.
Personally, I find that reprehensible.
When I read that GlaxSmithKline is making multi-billions off the drug, I can't help but do the math to see that profit must outweigh the risks to us for them. They're known about it because they had a black box warning on Avandia.
It's shameful.
How many lives have been lost unnecessarily?
I urge you to go see your doctor if you are taking Avandia to seek an alternative diabetes treatment.
For the record, I have not taken Avandia and I'm very thankful for that.
