Five things I'm thankful for today, Friday, May 16, 2008.
Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the down side of being diabetic that I forget that there are other things in my life to be thankful for. So to improve my own attitude, I'm going to try to share with you five things each day that I am thankful for.
Tomorrow, Monday, is my follow up appointment with my family doctor. The anxiety has quieted a bit. I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that it is too late to worry about it now. Life has to be lived. My numbers will go up and down.
I'm beginning to realize that my recent struggles with blood sugar are largely due to welling anxiety.
This is decidedly a female topic, but I know a lot of us face wondering what to do when our blood sugar spikes during our menstrual cycle. If you are male, maybe this affects someone you care about.
I've noticed a personal correlation between bad winter weather, anxiety and high blood sugar readings.
I'm trying to understand why irritability takes over my quiet demeanor sometimes. I'm starting to blame it on the diabetes.

I had a great day, but I still had a terrible nightmare that caused a rise in my blood sugar.
I had my first scare with a dip in blood sugar last night. I was home alone when I started feeling a little light headed and then dizzy.
