Kellogs Cereal Recall

Have you heard this?  On June 25, Kellogg issued a voluntary recall of select packages of Kellogg’s® Corn Pops®, Honey Smacks®, Froot Loops® and Apple Jacks® cereals.

We diabetics shouldn't be eating these sugary cereals, but someone in your family might be so I thought I would post the recall information here.

Diabetes, Heat, Humidity, And Your Blood Sugar

If you are like me, heat and humidity can affect your blood sugar.  I find the higher the humidity, the more sluggish I feel.  My blood sugar goes up no matter what I eat.  Am I just a delicate flower?  No, there is a reason why we diabetics don’t feel well more so than others in high heat and humidity.

Recently I went to the doctor to see if I've been a good diabetic.  I have improved a bit, which is good, but I'm not at fantastic just yet.  All of my blood work was good except for one interesting thing.

I have diminished thyroid function. 

Eating Some Crow About Simvastatin (Zocor)

Today I am eating a little crow about Simvastatin, the generic of Zocor prescribed by physicians for lowering  cholesterol.    I had panicked a few weeks ago when I heard a doctor on the radio and read a study that said it would cause or worsen diabetes.

My doctor straightened me out today.
